School and Conference
Villa de Leyva, Colombia, June 26 to July 6, 2018
Noncommutative Geometry and Poisson Geometry are two of the most active fields in contemporary geometry, both having roots and branches which intertwine with various areas of mathematics and physics. With various common questions, addressed with different perspectives and sets of tools, these two fields have many meeting points which help enrich the understanding of the problems addressed by each. In both areas Groupoids play a central role and the versatilely of these objects has left an imprint in many of their key results.
The school and conference Noncommutative geometry and Poisson geometry around groupoids aims at introducing advanced students and young researchers to various results and techniques from noncommutative geometry and Poisson geometry giving special attention to the role played by groupoids in key constructions and applications. The lecture series will focus on some of the main themes lying at the core of the current developments of the theory while the mini courses will provide both background and context for those.
